Every year, my friend would say that she was depressed because she did not have a boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. I never had a boyfriend either but you did not hear me complaining. Valentine’s Day is a holiday created by the card, candy, and flower industries to make a profit. In other words, they are requiring people to tell loved ones just how much they are loved. The industries tell us how to show our love and even when. But of course, many single people do not see it that way. They see it as a reason to be depressed because they are unloved by one specific person. But who says that Valentine’s Day is all about loving one person? What about family and friends? And why not show love everyday in your own way instead of just with candy, cards, and flowers?
