The Berenstain Bears Bedtime Devotional by Mike Berenstain contains ninety short devotionals that can be read with parents shortly before bedtime to have children reflect on their behavior towards others and to build a relationship with God. Each devotion begins with a short Bible verse. Then, there are a few sentences that give a short story about Brother, Sister, and little baby Honey. After some of the devotions, there is a Carry on, Cub passage that has the young readers focus on the story’s theme and apply it to their own personal lives. All lessons end with a with a short little prayer led by Brother, Sister, or Honey.
As a child, I grew up reading The Berenstain Bear books. Even as an adult, if I see a book I haven’t read at the library, I will check it out. I especially like how the books have a focus on God now. I would have loved this devotional book as a child between the ages of four to ten. The pictures are just the same from the older books. The messages are also great. They focus on being a great friend, forgiving, thankfulness, and so much more. I definitely recommend this book!
